I’m diagnosed with NPD so I can tell you the thoughts that a narcisstic person has. The basic problem is that he can actually feel a kind of love for someone. Especially in the beginning. From that moment ‘the hunt’ starts. He wants to win that person for himself. It is a competition with everyone else and he simply can’t lose. If he notices that he is losing, he will do everything to win the game. Did doesn’t only count for persons, but also business goals, private goals, etc. Everyone and everything must be adjusted in order to reach his goal. So, he doesn’t hate everyone, he is manipulating everyone. People who can help to reach his goal will be his friends, people who can undermine his goal are his enemies. As soon as ‘a friend’ undermines his goals or doesn’t want to play along, they will get to know the narcissist how he really is and the battle starts. That is why many people who are at the top of an organisation are either psychopats and/or narcissists. They will do everything to reach the top and cross borders in order to reach it. When they are at the top of the rock, they kick everyone of that rock even if people only want to help them
