Narcissists are unintegrated people.
So, yes. Narcissists are bad people.
They are also good people.
Just like you.
The problem is that while you know you're both a bad person and a good person and can live semi comfortably with that reality, a narcissist can only live with the reality that they're a good person.
This doesn't mean nice.
Powerful. Beautiful. Successful.
Admired.
Whatever "good" is to a narcissist, that's what they need to be.
And they can't live with the reality that nobody is that—
All the time.
So, those two realities - me/not me - exist side by side.
Unintegrated.
With one the shiny—
And acknowledged.
Persona.
And one the shamed—
And unacknowledged.
Shadow.
And until a narcissist can live comfortably with both.
Persona and shadow.
They will continue to be unintegrated. Which means that from time to time that—
Bad side.
Will come out.
Furious and wild-eyed and demanding to be acknowledged.
Just like you would be. If you were forced to live—
In the dark.
